AI again too big to work

Never had success dealing with Verizon. Thought one more try. Not hopeful. They requested of me, by AI , to marry all our accounts into one. Ok.
I asked for new combined user ID and password. AI told me to go to profile in my Verizon account. I opened it up, and it requested user id and password, both issued by Verizon and saved to my account. Hit it. Comes back "Not a recognized account."
Short version: AI. agent Chat (more AI). Finally, after an hour, a person trained to say "I'm sorry." "I know this is frustrating."
" I Understand."
She did the thing where they send you an expiring security code on the same page you are using. If you open the code-2seconds- you lose your page. Then she says go to your computer to change everything. I say this is your phone and my account. You verified me. She says "I am sorry ....(see above)".
I politely tell her hackers have an easier time in my account than I. "I'm so sorry...." etc etc.
So, at the end, no marry, no account, circles, for almost two hours.
The system in my trillion dollar bank is complicated, but I can work it just fine. So it's not me. And it's not you.
Verizon is a broken (self-congratulating) system which is too big to fail, and too big to work.
🤷‍♂️
Thanks for listening.

Hi there judimahoney (ma honey?). Thanks for the hug. I am just glad you get it. Also, my bank is worth 5 trillion, not one trillion.

@shmerdloff I get it! Recently, I reached out to Verizon and chatted with many Bots. Finally, I ended up switching to another provider, where I spoke with a human. Technology is supposed to make more life more “convenient”. However, too much AI is not helpful. 🤖

I can sympathize. I spent ALL day working my way through AI customer service to get to humans on four different sites today. It is exhausting. Then I called my credit union, and after only a few keystrokes, I got to talk to a HUMAN!
Tomorrow it's back to the BOTS to find so eone to fix what human broke today.

Yes. My "human" talked like she was trained by a bot, or she herself was a humanoid. Repeating "I am so sorry. I understand your frustation. "
How can we open my account and set new name and password? Can't.😄

I relate. I don't like how AI is affecting everything . Verizon- I have it. Customer service is troubling.

Seems like we are getting more and more distant from human communication. Telephone customer service has been a nightmare since the recorded maze began. The goal seems to be to make or so difficult that you just give up. Sometimes it makes me just want to cancel everything, pay cash, and refuse to partake in the technology jungle we have created. Yet, here we are helping each other on an electronic message board. It’s a two edged sword for sure. Have a good day everyone.

@parrot53
The irony is that it's not mere frustration. It's cumulative stress, and that makes you sick.
