Possible Sessile Serrated Polyposis Syndrome?

I went through the exact same thing but with a different diagnosis. My first colonoscopy was at 47 - my mom had been diagnosed with colon cancer - and there were lots of polyps. I went back a year later and there were twice as many polyps; six months later, even more polyps and I was diagnosed with AFAP, attenuated familial adenomatous polyposis, a genetic disease which carries a 100% chance of developing colon cancer. My only real option was a subtotal colectomy which I had in 2007. I have an annual sigmoidoscopy and there’s always a polyp or two in the remaining 9cms of rectum. I developed SIBO in 2017 so I have to be careful with my diet. I’m 73 now, still working, and since my diagnosis and surgery, I’ve done everything I’ve wanted to do, including a three week safari in Africa. Constant and consistent monitoring is the key for me - I go to Mayo in Jacksonville every spring for my sigmoidoscopy and every third year get additional tests (AFAP increases risks for other cancers too).

@bapetersen, I appreciate the information. At the moment I am waiting further instructions from my Dr and don’t have an official diagnosis. This is what they are assuming at this time. Further testing will tell. My goal through all of this is to keep the same positive attitude as you. Thank you
