Hi
Wondering if anyone after their first prolia shot had really bad purpura. If so did you continue the medication

I’ve had the 1st injection of Prolia after 12 months of Evenity. Evenity caused mild swelling, itching, tenderness at injection site, but symptoms usually resolved within 2 days. I did not have a reaction to Prolia-yet….

@mariannehale
So have you fractured is that why you're on prolia now.
I'm in Canada so a vanity is not covered and I would have liked to have done that first and then went on the prolia

Yeeesss! I was put on a super low potassium diet for Hyperkalemia (high potassium) which meant VERY limited amounts or NONE of the foods which are high in vitamin D- they are also high in Potassium. BUT NO ONE BOTHERED TO CHECK MY LEVELS OF ANYTHING ELSE!!! I knew I wasn’t getting enough Vitamn D and asked my PCP to check it, but Medicare wouldn’t cover it. Soooooo. While teaching a ballet class, my heel got caught on the barre as I was lifting my leg and down I went with my left wrist taking the weight. Got, up, shook it off, finished teaching, went to urgent care: hairline crack. FINALLY got my PCP to test D level: DEFICIENT!!!!!
A DEXA scan revealed marked osteoporosis in neck and arms.
Sorry I wrote a book! Can ya tell I’m STILL angry about this?! I have learned to be PERSISTANT!!
Good luck to you getting the preventative treatment you deserve!!!

Wow it's pretty ridiculous isn't it when you know something's not right and they don't listen or it's not covered. I feel your pain I had to switch my GP recently because he would not give me the earliest shot because my Endo ordered it but my endo's paraplegic so he couldn't give it to me any refused to refer me to the spine clinic he refused to fill out my paperwork to get a tlso back support so I just had enough my new physicians amazing my follow-up is October 13th with him and I can't wait he's already referred me to the spine clinic just waiting to find out the date
