Jumping
Hmm. It seems jumping is not that great. I will still do weight training.

Try Senior Planet with Cas (you can try you tube also for stored shows)
Morning Stretch and Meditation. It is a great way to start the day, sometimes there are over 500 of us across the United States. We can share our screens
or not and share a little after the class. You can sit the whole time if needed.
It is better than nothing and brings Peace. There are many other classes, I like drum circle, weights, and on and on. Get a plant and take care of it.
Hugs.

2 ReactionsGreat job to everyone exercising with the goal of increased BMD and better health in mind!!! At 63, I also exercise vigorously. I was able to see a decent improvement from exercise alone (and nutrition, supplements, lifestyle changes) , meaning no drugs, so I know it works. However it was too slow (11% increase in BMD of total spine in 19 months) and unchanged at the femoral neck, so my Dr had me start Tymlos. I've had great gains on Tymlos, much faster. However, my femoral neck was still changing too slow, in spite of 3 days a week of weightlifting (45 mins of machines and free weights), 3-4 days a week of intermediate level pickleball (and treadmill, stretching, etc).
I'm blessed to have no serious problems with my body structure other than lingering upper hamstring pain. In an effort to get the femoral neck going, I kinda made up what I call leg slams since I didn't like jumping. Like Dr Doug says, impact improves bone. However, doing these in addition to my routine finally go the femoral neck going! In 6 months (I do a Dexa every 6 months) femoral neck BMD went up 6.46%, on one side, 3.44% on the other. I've now added two signs I keep around the house that say "STOMP" to remind me to stomp around even while at home!
So keep searching for what works for you and your body and your situation/lifestyle.
This is a marathon, not a sprint. And we're in it, like it or not, for the duration! I have faith in you! Carry on Bone Warriors!
