Gabapentin scary side effects

reading pharmacy insert on gabapentin ;
anxiety, restlessness, insomnia
Could this be causing me these problems with even small 100mg doses at bedtime?

Check with your doctor. I have been taking up to 900mg/day with no issues.

Yeah, before switching to Lyrica I was on 400mg 3 times daily with no issues other than constipation.

@insanepain Interesting. I don't need that, either. And constipation is not even on this medication guide from the pharmacy.

Reactions are different in different people. I had a really bad reaction to Gabapentin. Seems like most of the side affects bothered me a great deal all at once. I cannot take it except at bedtime in a low, low dose (50mg). My Doctor hopes to have my system adjust to more of it.

I started having terrible insomnia about 10 months ago. I have taken Gabapentin for about 5 years. I have always slept well until now. I don’t know if it’s connected to Gabapentin. I never checked side effects cause I was so thrilled that it helped. My doctor prescribed trazadone for sleep and it has helped somewhat with the insomnia. I need to research the Gabapentin. I’ve started having some tinnitus and read a comment in the forum that it may be linked to the Gabapentin.

I'm taking 3600mg of gabapentin daily with none of those side effects.

I take 300 mg just before going to bed and I can sleep for about 7 hours straight which is great. The feet pain and numbness comes intermittantly. Sometimes it is so severe it wakes me up and others it doesnt bother me at all so I just deal with what is since whether I take it or not doesn't seem to matter. What bothers me the most is the tightness in the calves which makes walking exhausting.

I have had Diabetic foot neuropathy for 13 years. I was on the max dose of Gabapentin until that wasn't working anymore. Then my doctor switched me to Lyrica which I have been on for years. Currently, I am trying to get off of Lyrica. I am at the max for Lyrica. 600mg/day. I feel like it has been affecting my memory, like brain fog. I am still having terrible pain at night and occasionally during the day. I have tried aspercreme, and salonpas patches. Those don't work. The only thing that is helping is edible THC gummies and THC topical balm. Does anybody else have solution to this pain?

@beachgal2112 I wish I did, but I do not. I have been trying EVERYTHING out there that I can afford. Nothing topical works for me. I am also on Lyrica 200mg 3 times daily, and don't like the brain fog as well (drives me crazy), or the constipation. I was trying THC gummies when I lived in another state where it is legal. It did help me some, but now we live in another state where it is NOT legal. I am currently trying R‑alpha‑lipoic acid 600mg twice daily, which I think is helping some, but I just started taking it last week. Need more time to get it into my system to see true results. Just be sure that if you decide to try it to get the (R) version and not the standard one. Hopefully that or something else can help you.
