Neuropathy in feet

Posted by jamie19901 @jamie19901, Oct 20, 2025

Starts as a dull, bruised ache in the soles when standing. Ache builds into tingling, then warmth, and then burning sensation if I keep standing. Pain and redness fade rapidly (within minutes) after sitting or taking shoes off. Sometimes under aircon my feet will start a burning sensation. Tighter the shoes the faster the symptoms start. 6 years of IBS prior to this onset of symptoms . Otherwise fit 20year old.

EMG, blood work, MRI, XRAY, Ultrasound and countless medications. All clear, no results. Skin biopsy booked.

Presently using lidocaine patches which are not really effective.
Also switching from alpha lipoic acid in the morning to 1-2 hours before bed time

I must be a slow learner - finally realized that Aspercreme lidocaine patches do not work so well on feet. Switched to
Aspercreme specifically for feet and so far having much better relief

@bythesealove I tried original Aspercreme. It worked for a little bit. What is the difference between that and Aspercreme for feet?

Maybe it’s because my feet are really getting the cream/lotion directly.
I was using the large back patch cut in half - for both feet, since you are to use only one patch.
With the foot cream, I seem to sleep better and don’t need to worry about the patch coming loose even though I tape it.
