Minimally invasive ultrasound-guided thread carpal tunnel release

Posted by Llln @snowtime, Sep 20 9:21am

Has anyone had the Minimally invasive ultrasound-guided thread carpal tunnel release surgery? This was developed by Mayo Clinic as far back as 2017. It is currently being offered as a surgical remedy for carpal tunnel syndrome. The two hand surgeons that developed this procedure currently are doing this procedure at Mayo
Clinic in Rochester.

I really appreciate starting a topic just for this procedure.

It's too late for myself, I've had 3 carpal tunnel surgeries done on my hands, twice on my right hand and once on the left. The first procedure on my right hand didn't work and left me with the thumb and index finger completely numb. Later my left hand was done with good results. Then in '16 or '17 a neurosurgeon tried a second time on my right hand with the information ahead of it that it may not work, and it didn't. So picking up or holding onto something with my right hand is difficult to the point that doing things like working on my truck or building model cars is very frustrating.

From my research, Jeffrey S. Brault, D.O. and Alexander Y. Shin, M.D. were the doctors at Mayo who developed this procedure and are currently doing the procedure.
I am been hoping that someone who had the procedure would reply as I would like to hear about their results. It seems it could be a much shorter recovery than the traditional carpal tunnel surgery.

These two marvelous surgeons did this surgery on both wrists/hands. I was awake the very short period, left with two bandaids (one on the hand and the other on the wrist). I had minor weight restrictions for a couple of days, no down time and no PT. I have recommended this procedure to a number of friends. Fast, simple, painless and effective. Absolutely thrilled with the doctors.
