Hello @inupiat777, Welcome to Connect. Not sure anyone is able to answer your question as we are patients like yourself and treatments that help one person may not work for others. I did find a reference article that is easier than most to understand for us non-medical types (like myself).

I have idiopathic small fiber peripheral neuropathy but only have numbness and some tingling in my legs with no real pain. What symptoms do you have with your long nerve (length-dependent) neuropathy?

Tingling in tips of fingers, sharp pain at night in feet at times. Diagnosed 2 mo ago. Use spray Nervive that blocks pain at night. I also use Frankinsense and Myrrh which works great for me on feet and fingers .I tried to get an appt at Mayo, but they're not taking new patients. I'm going to Vanderbilt in Nov.

My doctor recently prescribed pregabalin and it has actually helped me sleep through the nights now.. The neuropathy has taken me through many different phases, starting with red hot burning feet then gradually becoming numb and tingling. Now it has moved up my legs almost to my groin. I use a cane to walk and manage quite well since starting the pregablin.. My doctor determined my condition to be fibromyalgia now, although I have had all the symptoms for 40 years or more.. My short term memory has disappeared.. fortunately for me, my husband manages most things for me now. Apparently this has all been idiopathic.. I have never had a major surgery or accident. I am 83 years old and my husband and I live alone and are managing fine so far..
