Why would you want to? I've only heard of it once a year.

@lightlifts I've heard of recommendations for Zometa every 6 months for some breast cancer patients. Zometa is a lower dose of Zoledronic acid compared to Reclast.

@lightlifts

Yes but half of the dosage only and the other half 6 months later which would be equivalent to a yearly dosage?

@bam61 I'll have to ask if my MD will do that. TY. I asked for it to be highly diluted and given over a 1 hour time frame.
And take Tykenol for a couple days.

Another dr who follows everything I do and was my former Dr had said the same thing to take Tylenol before and after the infusion. I am also the longest living double organ K/P transplant recipient of NWMH. I have currently been on Alendronate once a week tablet for a few months but really don't want to be on anything and he recommends the yearly IV Reclast infusion and to just exercise each day like I do each day and eat calcium rich foods and take my Vitamins D3 along with my Calcium Citracal pills. Glory be to God!

Bam61,Prarysky has the answer. Zometa is 3mg, sometimes given every three months for cancer patients to protect against cancer metastasist to the bone. Reclast can be ordered in a lower dose, but because it comes in 5mg the extra 2mg would be wasted. Windyshores' doctors ordered 1mg for her because she is sensitive to medications.
You might fare well with 3mg once a year. Bone markers would tell you at six months.
I like your thinking.
