I had a loop recorder and it was a great tool since it allows them to monitor your heart around the clock. If you have an episode they notify you and take appropriate action either to cardiovert your heart back into normal rhythm or to put you on appropriate medications. It gives them great information to assess your heart and take immediate action.

It is a simple them minute procedure in the hospital with a little light anesthesia the cardiologist just kind of injects it into your chest to the left and above your heart but low enough it doesn’t show in v neck sweaters. They last several years and then are easily replaced. It don’t hurt in the slightest. When I had one it gave me total peace of mind since I know lover had to worry about whether I was in afib or not.
