I had a right middle lobe lobectomy done robotically. My pain was tolerable and very little. In the hospital they gave me pain meds, I was discharged after about 24 hours… once home I only used Tylenol as needed, and even that was not for long.
If I began to get uncomfortable I walked slowly around the house, that alleviated it amazingly! It’s my understanding that walking increases blood flow which that in turn helps with pain.
The only discomfort I have now is from the regeneration of nerves, which is tolerable as well. I do not take medication for that, I purchased more comfortable bras which helps a lot. It takes time for nerves to heal.
I knew I’d have pain, it’s surgery and all but I was quite happily surprised at how much less it actually was !
