What if my breasts are lumpy

isupportpurplesticks, have you had a mammogram. Redness of the nipples is usually benign, but can be caused by a rare breast cancer. Sorry, but you really should see a doctor.
Lumps are often fluid cysts, but you can't take a chance.
I'm 75 and have never had mammogram. I feel sorry for myself, too because I know I have to see someone for the probably-cyst lumps.
Think if it as a tactical glow stick.

isupportpurplesticks -- I haven't had any experience with red nipples, but i did have a "ropey" feeling 1" long lumpy thing a few years ago. I'd always considered myself "lumpy" (uterine fibroids and a fibroadenoma in the same breast in my 40s), a ductal cancer in that breast (& lumpectomy) when i was 64, 5 years before this ropey thing. Because of how it felt and the location, it seemed unlikely that it was cancerous and when it didn't change in the following year, that seemed like good enough confirmation. BUT -- i'd had a mastectomy the previous year because of lobular BC in the other breast, and after a year of worrying about "Could this be...?" i decided to have a prophylactic mastectomy, which gave me complete relief. The main thing is: you never know and you're putting yourself at risk if you don't get this checked out.
