Replies to "Why are some people taking ALA at very high doses when the literature recommends 600 mg..."
@blowerk1216 Because my doctor recommended 1200mg a day, so that's what I'm taking.

Key BenefitsNerve Pain Relief: R-ALA is most established for reducing diabetic peripheral neuropathy symptoms—such as burning, numbness, and stabbing pain in the hands and feet—by lowering oxidative stress and improving blood flow to the nerves.Blood Sugar Support: It helps improve insulin sensitivity and assists cells in efficiently taking up glucose, which supports healthy blood sugar regulation.Powerful Antioxidant Action: Because R-ALA is both water- and fat-soluble, it works throughout the entire cell and helps regenerate other key antioxidants like vitamin C, vitamin E, and glutathione.Metabolic and Inflammation Support: Studies indicate it may help reduce markers of systemic inflammation, support healthy lipid profiles, and offer modest assistance with weight management.

I'm not. I'm taking 200mg daily. I have been on it 1 week now and I do feel a slight improvement already. 🙏
I will up it to 300mg/daily in a few weeks. That's all

@blowerk1216, I take 1200 mg (4x300) of R ALA because I think it has helped me reduce the amount of gabapentin I take, which unfortunately is now back up to 1500 mg a day. I have taken as little as 300mg of R ALA and as much as 2400 mg of gabapentin. I have been adjusting my dosages of both depending on how well my neuropathy responds. I have neuropathy from diabetes and also the result of back surgery many years ago. I am aware that I take more of the R ALA than is supported in the studies I have read. I believe the medical risk is low in taking 1200mg of R ALA. However I am spending about $2.00 a day. Which is a good down payment on a cup of coffee.🤔
