First Evenity Injections Today: Question re Reaction:

Posted by andi77 @andi77, Sep 14 8:51pm

I had my first Evenity injections about 5 hours ago and now my stomach is completed distended and I have upper abdominal pain and indigestion.
Is this normal?
Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm not sure if I should be alarmed and seek out immediate medical attention...
I appreciate your advice and support.

I can only speak to my own experience when I started Evenity almost a month ago. I had no reaction other than a slight pain at the injection site for a day, so I would be concerned if I were you. I would call your primary, or endocrinologist if you are seeing one, to ask about that.

@andi77 I had Evenity injections for one year and did not have any reactions or side effects. However, we are all different people and react to medications differently. I recommend that you contact your primary care provider or the specialist who prescribed the Evenity. Have you talked with a medical provider about the symptoms you are experiencing?

I appreciate your feedback and have left a message for my bone specialist.

Somehow, your thoughtful inquiry ended up in my "spam," but I wanted to let you know that I finally passed Cardiac Clearance and had my first Evenity injections yesterday.
Unfortunately, I am very sore and swollen as a result.
Hoping for resolution quickly.
How are you doing?

Did you have the injections in the abdomen? I did a year of Evenity starting in my arms, but switched to the abdomen. I got "peach pits" in the arms that were bothersome while I was working. The abdomen was better, but the pits were still there, soreness lasting up to three weeks. My belly looks like a sack of potatoes now. I've read that it can specifically cause belly fat, , and weight gain. No other side-effects noted.

Hi, I get Evenity injections in my abdomen and yes, I do get a tender, swollen/distended belly later in the day but it's gone by the next day. I got the first injection in the arms and I couldn't use the arms for almost a week because of the pain so I switched to the abdomen. I found that the abdominal issues are minimal and tolerable compared to the arm pain.

Hello, I received my first two Evenity injections yesterday in my stomach. The nurse wanted me to wait 30 minutes to see if I have any reactions. There is redness on one of the injection sites but nothing more so far.

Hopefully your redness is subsiding.
I still have lumps and tenderness, but definitely improving.

@followheart87
I always appreciate feedback on other's reactions and what to expect.
Thank you. 🙂

It may have more to do with the injector /technique because evenity injected into the abdomen absorbs better. Check with your doctor. I don't think your reaction is a usual side effect. It may, however be uniques to you.
