@gently must be because the drug affects the parathyroid gland. It Is like pulling a whole wig out the drain. At least I know what’s causing it. I hope I’m not bald in 16 1/2 months. I still can’t completely count to 10 when doing the injection because there aren’t 10 clicks in the TYMLOS pen. I get to 9 sometimes and the 1st month it didn’t sting. Now it does and I dread injecting it every night afraid that I might react and pull it out. (I did one night.)

@alidamc Your comment about the clicks is confusing. What does the number of clicks in the pen have to do with counting to ten?

@alidamc
alidamc, full dose is 8 clicks. Can't get enough? eh.
We have hyperparathyroidism for four hours every day. Seems like our doctors would know.
But it sounds like you are doing really well (minus the hair).
I'm on the low dose Forteo injecting in the thigh is easier. Even when the needle resists the skin I never feel it. I have pulled the needle out thinking I must have forgotten to screw on on-- only once.
Tell me more.

@alidamc Same question about 10 clicks??? Also, although for me it doesn’t usually hurt, when occasionally it does I get nervous do for a few times I ice the injection area so it’s a little numb.
