@uchimaobi, Welcome. We are happy that you have joined our discussion about Living Kidney Donation. Your opening statement is beautiful! If you have read the other entries, I think you have already met some others who are looking into the possibility.
@uchimaobi, I would like to ask you a couple questions so we can better carry on a conversation. Is that all right?
Are you already a donor, or are you looking for a way to get started on the process?
What are some questions that you would like to ask?
Rosemary
Am about to be a donor and I was in Mayo clinic last month and have done all test , but they emailed me that there is some other test I need to do so I have to be in Mayo again, but I told them am having tough time coming over there again .
Then they told to get a local health provider and fax their number to them so they will order the test I will do to them .but am finding it hard to get a local health provider because I don't have one right now .What. will i do??
@uchimaobi, Did you receive any contact information when you left Mayo last month? I would suggest that you give them a call about this problem. That is what I would do.
Do you have a family member, or a trusted friend nearby who might assist you with this?
Let me know what you find out.
Rosemary
Yes, I have the Nurse co-coordinator. Contact of kidney transplant and she told me if I get # fax number of the local health provider,, I should send it to her
@uchimaobi most hospitals keep a registry of the doctors accepting patients and can refer you. I think that would be a good first step.

@uchimaobi I have no idea who to contact in Baltimore but I don’t think you can wrong if you contact Johns Hopkins.

Thank I will be tomorrow
@uchimaob, I am thinking about you during this month of April, as the nation celebrates and honors organ donors. I don't know whether this worked out for you, however, know that I consider you worthy of being honored because of your willingness to be part of the donor process.
