Has anyone had heart-related issues from chemo treatments?

I was curious if anyone has had heart related issues from chemo treatments.

There is a specialty called cardio-oncology. Major cancer centers, like Mayo Clinic, offer expertise in addressing heart problems (called cardio-oncology), potential or current issues. At Mayo, the Cardio-Oncology Clinic (https://www.mayoclinic.org/departments-centers/cardio-oncology-clinic/overview/ovc-20442193) evaluates people prior to cancer treatment and patients who have experienced side effects due their treatment.

@asolidrock, Are you working with a cardiologist as well as your cancer team? Have you had your heart issues investigated?

I am a heart failure as well as a prostate cancer patient. I have a cardio-oncologist as part of my care team. He did evaluate and sign off on chemo which I start next Wednesday. If I develop any heart related issues as a result, I'll let you know. (providing I live through it 😁)

You will be fine we will be praying for you obviously you have a good cardiologist the chemo wasn't bad for me I had minimal side effects thank God. Keep us updatef

Yes I had to get cleared for chemo by cardiologist and he is actively involved even though im no longer taking chemo.
