@jc76 ..Thanks JC76 for your thoughtful comments and advice. The LVH is really kind of a shock to me since I have been dealing with the sarcoidosis so long with my lungs--didn't really think it had affected my heart, too. Read online that a person could reverse LVH with diet and exercise, but am leary in what I read online.. really hard to believe that but wished it was true. I'm glad that your providers have found a way for you to handle your heart failure with meds and surgery.
Were you ever afraid that exercising could cause more damage to your health and heart condition since it puts more stress on your heart? Thanks in advance for your thoughfulness.

Yes one of my first question was on exercising. My heart failure doctor said: "25 years ago we would have told you to go home and rest." "Now we want you to exercise for you body fitness and maintaining heart strength."

I asked about level and I was told you be the judge of what feels okay and what you can do without issues. So really other than no longer jogging was doing all that I wanted to do. I found jogging to much for me. It would require I breath through mouth to get sufficient air. But I also have an old herniated disk that really bothers me with any feet pounding.

I wound up doing fast walking when doing Sprint Triathlons. I found I could breathe in through my nose and out through mouths which tells me I am not overdoing it. When I finished the race I was not out of breath or breathing hard just wiped out.

My exercise regiment if I cannot breath in through my nose and take deep breath and do an long exhale through mouth I know too much for me and slow down.

I told my heart failure doctor about this and he was happy with my explanation of how I judge my exertion level.
