I searched for "timing of prednisone", and "what time to take prednisone", and found a couple of links -

I was on prednisone for 14 months, and I always took it as a single dose around 4 am. I was fortunate and never had any more symptoms of GCA or PMR once I started treatment (prednisone and Actemra).

Have you ever tried splitting your dose so that it lasts longer into the next day? Maybe take 3/4 like usual and 1/4 around noon or during the afternoon?

No, I haven't. I'm currently establishing my lowest effective dose. 12.5 mg pretty much eliminates all stiffness/pain; at 11.25 mg, the symptoms at their worst are only about 20% of the pre-pred symptoms. Don't want to change up too many variables at once. I'm happy with the process thus far.
