Trigger point injections
I have been having constant upper left abdominal pain for over 4 months. The pain is deep inside not muscle pain. A pain doctor tried trigger point injections into my upper left abdomen but it didn't help at all. My abdominal pain is constant, not related to body movements and doesn't change with bowel movements. Food doesn't change the constant abdominal pain. I have short bowel syndrome, had bowel obstruction surgeries in 2019. Doctors don't know how to treat my constant abdominal pain. Doctors are not treating my Short Bowel Syndrome condition either.

My constant upper left abdominal pain isn't muscle pain or nerve pain. Abdominal massage didn't help my constant abdominal pain. My constant upper left abdominal pain is because of my Short Bowel Syndrome condition not being treated medically.
@tjanet MFR is not massage. I didn’t recommend a massage. MFR can adjust internal organs, muscles bones, components and if there is a muscle in spasm, it could be detected. Bowels work as muscles they contract and they expand. Additionally, the reason you feel pain is because of nerves. Nerves transmit the sensation of pain. So your nerves are involved. Your expectation that this should be treated medically is curious do you have an idea of what that medical treatment would be? Acupuncture is very helpful in identifying the source of pains like this. Have you tried acupuncture yet?
@tjanet in addition to my other post have you been checked for SIBO? Have you tried going on the FODMAP diet yet for an irritable bowel? I had constant pain and it was from distention in my small intestine and bowel. I have borderline SIBO after going to two gastroenterologist and so I use Zyxx in a targeted antibiotic to periodically read my body of the bacterial overgrowth which causes pain. I also went on the FODMAP, which is free and that resolved my constant abdominal pain which was caused by an inability to inulin (nonsoluble fiber, garlic, and onion). You might need to see a gastroenterologist I didn’t know what kind of doctor you are seeing currently.

My abdominal pain isn't food related. I took Xifaxan and it didn't help my constant abdominal pain. No I don't have spasms or cramping. I don't have IBS. I see a GI doctor.
@loriesco
I have had Abdominal wall Botox injections which didn't help my abdominal pain.I had radiofrequency ablation and that didn't help my abdominal pain.
@tjanet I wouldn't think they would. But that has zero to do with what I am suggesting. I think you mention the botox (muscles) and the RFA (nerves) but that isn't your problem. (I've had all of this).
- have to been to a gastro doc?
- had a SIBO test?
- learned about FODMAP for IBS? and tried it? (I had abdominal pain for years and years)
- had an endoscopy?
- had a diagnosis on your pancreas?
The accupuncture will not solve your problem but it will alleviate your suffering
Also - you've definitely had your heart checked out, right?
I see a GI doctor. I don't have IBS, my constant abdominal pain isn't IBS. I have had several endoscopy procedures. Pancreas is fine. I have seen a cardiologist.
I have looked into acupuncture but it costs to much and my health insurance doesn't cover acupuncture.
I was treated for SIBO but still have constant abdominal pain.

MFR therapy isn't safe for me to do because of my Short Bowel Syndrome.
@tjanet you didn't answer my questions. so I've gone as far as I can with ideas to help you. You are focusing on negative things and none of the ideas that may be positively incorporated into your situation. There is so much being left out that I am on a fools errand now. Like I don't know if your doctor said you can't have it, if you had surgery and your doctor said you can't have it, or if you are looking for an excuse to not try. Some people with SBS CAN have MFR with a professional MFR and a doctor's validation. But if not, acupuncture is a great substitute. Try some of the other things. Gastric/bowel issues are difficult to concisely deal with. The gastro docs don't handle problems once the physical part is resolved because they don't have time to guess at what might still be ailing you once they fix the physical. you may have to advocate for yourself by doing the research online and narrowing down the problem yourself before your next doctor appointment. AI is a good tool for that. Good luck!
