I have a much better sense of well-being. The tiredness I had before was different from any tiredness I have now. Hard to describe. I did things because they were 'good for me'. If I turn up to the gym tired now, I think of how good I'll feel after that first set. I have bum knees and wear off-loading braces. I am often stiff when I show up for my workout. But after the first set I'm loose. I can actually feel the warm blood and oxygen moving through my legs.
I do have sleep issues because I have sleep apnea. Machine, mask, the whole nine yards. Restorative sleep can be a challenge sometimes. I'm not a napper but after a workout, lunch, and catching up on the news I am pretty relaxed and have been known to "shut my eyes for a few moments' in my recliner.
Getting used to the pacemaker can be a challenge: showering, some discomfort and short term limitations. When I returned to the gym, frankly I was afraid to do anything. But starting with body exercises and taking it slowly I'm doing as well as I did 4 years ago. Occasionally, the area will be a bit tender but nothing concerning.
The pacemaker gave me my life back and I'm grateful I have it. But that's been my experience. Others will have their own experiences.
All the best to you and good luck with the treadmill!
