Spinal stenosis. Any recommendations?

I have spinal stenoses in all three areas of the spine. I am toying with the idea of a spine stimulator, but don't know enough yet to say yes or no to it. If anyone on here has a Boston Scientific stimulator, would you please let me know how you have fared with it? I am very interested in this and need imput from others who have it.

@gravity3 - I think you will find there are a lot of discussions in the Mayo Clinic Connect Spine Health support group specifically about spinal cord stimulators.

I do. Thoracic, as well. Every patient and spine is different. Feel free to reach out to me privately. I’m a retired PT. Have had cervical decompression surgery and hoping to avoid thoracolumbar surgery!

Hi, gioanna, I am glad to know there are others out there with more than just one part of the spine affected by stenosis. I have not found a good neurosurgeon who really wants to help me, so I am looking for others in town. I don't think I am far enough along in this to think about surgery, but I could be wrong. I just know I am tired of feeling so bad all the time!

Hi. I just joined the group. I was recently diagnosed via MRI with moderate spinal stenosis at L4-L5 both central and foraminal. I also have facet arthropathy. I have had DDD for years and would have occasional back flares, but nothing to this extent.

The past few months I’ve been having some back pain along with pain in both knees and shins and sciatica in both heels (mainly right). My mobility is affected and I’m mostly housebound.

I had some left shin reduced sensation that lasted 7 to 8 days and then went away. Shin pain started after that.

The doctor said that my left knee reflex is slower than my right. He is sending me for an EMG. No date yet.

I’m looking for other people’s experiences, advice, suggestions, and insight as to how I might manage my condition. I’d love to get back to daily life activities.

I had a lamenectomy done it took care of my numbness in my legs, but still had problems with my right butt cheek can't stand, can't sit very long and walking is very hard, so they fused L4 and L5 still no relief, so they fused S1 still no relief, then a MRI said I had a torn labrum in my right hip so I had a hip replacement still in pain, I'm on meds strong one's barely helping, Now diagnosed with bladder cancer, just had my port put in yesterday, I live on Advil which is not good for my liver and kidneys. If I was you I would get a second opinion, they meaning the Dr's no that %90 of patients will come back for more surgeries , I'll pray for you 🙏 but please get a second opinion i wish I did, I went to Rush In Chicago supposed to be the best spine help , I disagree and I also did a nerve stimulator that did absolutely nothing for me
