I have been taking morning doseage of orgovyx with nubeqa around 10.30-12 noon every day and taking evening nubeqa ( with a bit of food) around 7 -8 pm ??

Saw somewhere earlier that this is not recommmended ?? Been doing it this way for almost 1 yr..hell of a time to ask . huh ?

@jeffmarc I just learned something new. I took Orgovyx evenings with Prilosec and had some pretty wicked hot flashes, moderated somewhat by Oxybutynin.

So did you switch the Orgovyx to the morning? Did it help.

I take Prilosec in the morning and I never have a problem at night as a result. If I don’t take it, I do get acid indigestion every night. Yes, I could take it at night, but taking it in the morning keeps me clear all day and works through the night. You could switch the Prilosec to morning, but maybe you have found that you have problems at night if you do that. Would be interesting if you mentioned, what you have experienced.

You have to take the Prilosec on an empty stomach. Isn’t that a little difficult if you do it in the evening.

@jeffmarc Gastroenterologist gave no specifics other than to take Prilosec morning and night after he diagnosed esophagitis. Later, that was reduced to evening only, before dinner. I switched Orgovyx to evening, I believe after one of your posts that mentioned reducing some of the side effects by taking at night. My last current Orgovyx was June 19. Next blood work is early November.

@xahnegrey40 Thanks! No known side effects so far, but I appreciate the warning.

Strange reaction. I’ve been taking it for at least five or six years. My wife, for the last two or three neither of us have had side effects problems from it.

Your comments are actually the first time I’ve heard negative reactions about the drug.

What did it actually do to you?

I was warned by friend doctor not to take those more than once a year and only for 14 days max. Luckily I do not have acid reflux and do not need to take them but on very rare occasions. When I do I take them for short period of time, 5-6 days . As soon as I feel better I stop.

@jeffmarc I was prescribed a RX version of prilosec for heart burn in 2012..Doc told me to just take it forevereven after heartburn resolved, so I started taking it everyday. Apparently, it block my absorbtion of magnesium. Lost 25 lbs and got weird depression..stopped after 2 months and took me 3 more month to get back to normal..

AI : What to Know About Sleep and Prilosec Reported side effects: Postmarketing surveillance and clinical notes list abnormal dreams, insomnia, anxiety, and hallucinations as uncommon psychiatric and neurological side effects of Omeprazole / Sodium Bicarbonate Side Effects and Omeprazole and sodium bicarbonate (oral route).Case studies: Medical literature includes reports where severe nightmares or dream enactment behaviors coincided with starting proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and resolved after stopping the medication.General risks:ong-term use of Prilosec (omeprazole) can lower the body's ability to absorb magnesium and other vital minerals. How Prilosec Affects MineralsReduced acid: Prilosec is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that lowers stomach acid.Solubility drops: Low stomach acid makes it harder to break down and dissolve minerals from food and supplements.Absorption block: Over months or years, this reduced acidity can decrease the uptake of magnesium, calcium, iron, and zinc, as well as vitamin B12.Risks and Warning SignsLow magnesium (hypomagnesemia): Chronic use can lead to dangerously low magnesium, which causes muscle cramps, tremors, fatigue, or irregular heartbeats.Bone and blood issues: Long-term mineral malabsorption can raise the risk of bone fractures (from poor calcium) or anemia (from poor iron).

Obviously didn work for me...

@jeanadair123 lots of pain especially in my feet. I have neuropathy and the ADT made it much worse. I have great fatigue, occasional mild hot flashes, very weak legs as well as just generally feeling like crap. I consider this the new normal for me and I accept it. It could be much worse. As a matter of fact it was worse when I was having chemo infusions. I asked my oncologist how long I would be on Orgovyx and Nubeqa, his response was permanently. I do hope things smooth out for your husband. These are serious drugs and there are a host of side effects.

@jeffmarc me too- I was using a Rx strength and maybe that had something to do with my unpleasant exp. But god knows you have had enough bad side effects etc over the years with other drugs, so I am glad it is working for you...

we are all different as far as metabolism and liver synthesis of these compounds...so it makes perfect sense we have different tolerances of all these drugs !! I wish you continued health and success and happy for you that you have a partner support your journey..!
