Here we go again...recurrence in my gluteus muscle

I had hoped I wouldn't need to post another message on my situation, but I'm back. Nearly two years past surgery, my adenocarcinoma recurred in my gluteus muscle, an extremely rare location so I read. I'll learn more about the stage and grade next week, but thought I'd check to see if anyone else has experienced this type of metasisis from esphogus to glute? I'm hoping we caught this at an early stage. Any input is appreciated.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I also had a recent recurrence, 8 months post surgery (ESCC)- and while not in my glute muscle, I just wanted to say "I am sorry this is happening- that sucks" because it does. Thinking of you (and all of us). Sometimes I liked seeing a message to just hear you are not alone out there....

@lionsfan, I can imagine that you didn't ever want to have to post this message. @deemold's recurrence is in a different location, but she gets it.

I augmented the title of your discussion to see if anyone else has had a recurrence to the gluteus muscles. How was the recurrence discovered? Did you notice pain?

It was picked up during my quarterly scan. The next scan showed significant interval growth. The swelling and growth was accelerated and the pain becoming unbearable. I'm back on chemo starting tomorrow. I'm also starting palliative radiation treatment next week.
