@lizzieqmention, hello. Thank you for the reply. Here is a photo of the Stoma-stent. My ENT told me this was a brand new invention! He was wrong if you have had one all these years! Do you suffer with a great amount of mucus as I do? If so, how you wear one is beyond me. All that mucus is trapped behind the smaller opening of a stent compared to the larger opening of a tracheostomy tube. Please explain!!! Thanks.

@thomason Thank you for sharing the photo! I actually wear this one. My size is 11/24. It’s not new, but I believe it’s the newest one on the market. I do deal with a lot of mucus and drainage. I usually roll up gauze or a soft paper towel and wrap it around the stent area so it can absorb the drainage. It helps a lot. It’s very frustrating! I thought something was wrong until I joined other groups and saw so many people complaining about it too. And the hot weather is no joke! I’m in the Carolinas, and it’s been close to 100°! 🥵❤️

@thomason True, this is not new. I had my first one placed in on 4-25-1993.
I have the original RX for this. After speaking withe CFO of Hood Labs, I
am tokd the largest stent they make is an 11-27. They have always been
excellant to work with.
