VOQUEZNA (Vonoprazan) or (Tegoprazan) instead of PPIs for GERD?

That’s quite impressive! I’m going to explore this. Thanks. Perhaps, someone who is familiar with it will respond.

Has anyone been on Voquezna for awhile and had any success? My biggest problem has been at night. Once or twice a night my stomack is burning into my throat and it wakes me up. I've had this for 15+ years and was wondering if this new drug worth trying?

How has your experience with vonoprazan been?

I'm going to see my doc on Monday and I was going to ask if I can get a prescription for it to try for a couple months. It's a new, with in the last year and I'm hoping it does a better job than the regular PPIs. I started see advertising for them back in September. The ppi didn't work well for me, I still had heartburn at night. After a good 15 years of them, I now have osteoporosis at 62 years old.

New prescription for acute GERD

@mikeks I’ve been on Voquenza 9 mos for the he most part it’s very good. Once in a very rare while I do get up middle of the night feel acid. I meet back w Gastro Dr few weeks he may bump it to 2x a day

I tried Voquezna. I found it go be much less effective than high dose PPIs for severe GERD.

I tried it for 4 months with no results. Back on Omeprazole

@mikeks have you tried Sulfacrate?

Makes my life easier. Can be taken with or without food. Works very good. Allows for a wider selection of foods without triggers. Should be taken at the same time daily. Might need pre approval. I got ok from United Healthcare Med Advantage
