Has anyone tried the TENS machine for pain?
Has anyone tried the "Tens"machine for pain? There are many kinds sold on Amazon. Dr Ho is advertised on tv a lot. I have a cheaper model and use it on my shoulder and hip but no success that I can notice so far.

I have chronic pain from several genetic orthopedic issues and the TENS unit is not very effective for me; most people are not in my situation and I hope popolopo got help.
@bionicartist I would first get a physician to tell you exactly what your prognosis is and than start your search.Othapedic issuses are not always correct by a tens unit, but and this is the million dollar question, can be if correctly used and placed.Do not buy a preprogrammed unit from anyone.Get a certified unit with adjustable pulse saturate that will be able to be set to your needs.Sorry the program ones only are effective for the faint. These are great with proper rehab and can ease the burden on going to another dr.

It's fine to disagree with me but if you read the history of my post, I was replying to a question if anyone had used a TENS unit for pain and what their experience was. I was merely replying to a question someone else asked. I don't need a TENS unit and was not asking for anyone's advice, thank you very much
I’ve had tens machines for years and have found that whether it works or not depends where you place the pads. It took a bit of experimenting.

I went to a chiropractor, and she used one of these machines on me. They did not help me so I told her I was not going to come back. At that time she told me that I could buy the machine and use it myself. I could have saved lots of dollars. My machine only cost $28 at Walmart. I still have it. I never thought chiropractors helped me at all and they never have. I won’t be going back to one ever.

1 Reaction@redtop10 glad to see you useing and liking the tens.Beware of the preprogrammed units as they cannot individulize your particular issue. The dr ordered units will work differently and your results will be greatly enhanced

1 ReactionI had TENS therapy with a reputable PE for back pain and received moderate relief. Give it a try, it may benefit others.
