@janism It is a challenge to find the time to keep up the exercise. I read the idea of "exercise snacks" in The New York Times and that has helped me some. Here are some examples:
- I do heel drops while brushing my teeth. Alternate with balancing on one foot. Yes, I used to sometimes dribble a little toothpaste foam on myself, but very rarely now as I have gotten better .
- I keep a strong canvass carry bag handy with about 35 lbs of weight in it (you can use water-filled strong juice bottles for weight). Pick up with one hand and walk the length of the house or around the room once in a while. Great for core strength as you are unevenly weighted. This is called "suitcase carry" in exercise parlance.
- In my car I set my drivers seat to be very upright. Then I lower the seat back about 2.5 inches and hold myself upright with my core as I drive. Keep back straight and you will be amazed how much ab strength you use pulling out from a stop sign. I cannot focus enough to do this as a passenger, only when I am driving.
- Example that did not work for me was keeping a pair of 5 lb dumbbells by the TV. I only watch stuff that I really like, turning off the set if I do not have anything really good, and the dumbbells mess up my focus on the great content. But if you are casually watching the news or sports then this *sounds* like a good idea.
