@vmcgrantham, I felt the same way as you do when I started Forteo. I didn't want to take the sequential medications. It is more difficult for you because of the presence of autoimmune systems. The doctor was firm that I would have to take Reclast following Forteo.
Since the black box has been removed from Forteo, some endocrinologist are prescribing the drug for longer courses. Some are trying to figure out which patients would benefit. Rather unexpectedly the endocrinologist I see decided that I might be one who would benefit.
If I did have to quit Forteo, I would take risedronate for as short a course as possible and return to Forteo. Risedronate might be a good choice for you because it is the shortest acting, considered the weakest of the bisphosphonates.
I'm glad the Forteo isn't causing you any trouble. It's a dream drug for me. I'm on my 4th year.

@gently thank you I will check into that. My endocrinologist doesn’t deal with this stuff, but my rheumatologist is the one that keeps trying to force the recast on me. I just don’t want it. It’s got too many problems for me. And the evinity has much more issues when I’m being told by my endocrinologist that can cause blood clots, heart attacks and strokes so I have a choice of we can bones or die of a heart attack or a stroke or something I’ll check into what you said and I’ll see what that one’s about and go from there thank you for your input though. I really appreciate it.
