@labexperiment that’s a question I have. Can I drink wine and beer occasionally. My trigger seems to be prolonged spell of being in a warm area after swimming workout. It happened every time I had the racing HR that wouldn’t subside. Those are the only times I’ve had it. Does anxiety play a role also?

@stan52 There are many triggers and those are individual but alsohol is a big trigger

@stan52 I never had alcohol trigger my AF. It was GERD, or eating too much at one time (stomach distension), anxiety, stresses of several kinds, but I can still, to this day, enjoy a beer and hot have AF triggered. Some might, though. There is such a phenomenon as 'holiday heart syndrome' where people drink too much over the holidays and present in their local ER with palpitations. After rehydration, more electrolytes, maybe a cardioversion if it's indicated, they leave and won't come back....until next time they binge.

Anxiety, poor sleep, not enough sleep, financial worries, relational worries, pain, dehydration, improper electrolyte balance, caffeine, flecainide, other medications....the list is lengthy and very much individual. Sometimes we have to experiment on ourselves to see which items on the list pertain to our case.
