Upper foot pain and foot cramps
I have chronic upper foot pain that further manifests at night with cramping in the feet. Has anyone any idea what is causing this problem? It’s very painful, inhibits my ability to walk and causes disruption in my ability to sleep. I am just looking for some relief.

@sonnysma Feet are VERY complex, and we abuse those dozens of small bones daily walking on all kinds of surfaces, and bending and twisting them. Causes of pain can range from arthritis to fractures to neuropathy to poor footwear to vitamin/mineral deficiency, so you see there is no simple suggestion.
Pain that disrupts walking and sleeping is serious enough to warrant a visit to the doctor - have you seen one? Do you have other underlying health conditions?

I was having the exact same issues as the above post and my physician told me to start doing exercises for my feet because it's muscle wasting so I have been doing exercises for them and they have gotten better in the cramps don't come as often
@sue417 Thank you. I am tagging @sonnysma to be sure they see your helpful reply.
My daughter is a school nurse, and I recently watched her demonstrate foot exercises to one of her students who was complaining about foot pain and cramps!
Thanks for your input. I have done some foot and exercises and I thought it wasn’t helping because my cramps didn’t abate at all. In fact it seemed to worsen. Perhaps they weren’t the correct exercises. I think I’ll try again. I have nothing to lose. Thanks again.
