I was on Lupron + abiraterone for two years. During that time (and ever since), I do resistance training with dumbells, aerobics (in addition to the hiking, biking, etc) and balance exercises at least 3 days a week. In total, it takes an hour and continues to make a huge difference in terms of strength, energy and stability.
When newly diagnosed, I participated in a clinical trial that focused on the physiological impacts of lupron on exercise at the cellular level (measuring depletion rates of ATP during exercise prior to and at intervals over the first six months of treatment). Even with regular exercise, there was a decline in strength, endurance, reflexes and balance.
There are excellent online videos/reels on balance exercises by licensed physical therapists that have proved very helpful in noticeably improving/maintaining my balance. I encourage you to incorporate some of these into your daily routine. As kids, we incorporated balance practice into our every day play and activities. I have found doing the same now makes a big difference.
