The majority of us who take osteoporosis medications do not have severe side effects. Most of the folks who are using sites like this are experiencing side effects and some severe.
Unlike myself, most who have very mild side effects or none are are off living their lives. Broken bones are a rare side effect.
My experience over the course of 12 years and taking fosomax, forteo, evenity and Prolia is no noticeable side effects.
Please do your own research into this.
Perhaps your plan will work well for you. Are you going to track you progress with bone markers or with more frequent dexa scans? Have you been tested for causes other than loss of hormones due to menopause? Do you take hrt/bhrt?

Thanks for your response and to answer your question, I have never taken anything for hormone replacement since I don't even know when I went through menopause since I had no symptoms. I have had no fluctuations in weight, or hot flashes so I had never considered that as something to look at. I am studying new advances in treatments for osteoporosis everyday and making decisions about what will work best for my body. I also have reached out to friends my own age and heard their stories of being on several different medications and bones still breaking after years of taking those medications so my decision is not based on just what I read but factual testimonies from friends and co-workers. I have no spleen and my body reacts very different to supplements, medications including anesthetics. So I am very careful about what I consider . And despite having no spleen which I lost in an accident at 11 yrs old I am rarely sick so the thoughts of making myself sick doesn't make sense when I also know there are other options. One of the things that has greatly affected my decision is that even though I had a DEXA scan 3 years ago it was not recommended by any of the doctors in my clinic. It showed slight density but I have never had a conversation with anyone in the medical field while all along I have been losing bone. WHY was this never mentioned? So my faith in the medical field is tainted by the fact that they could have helped me avoid this condition. And it is the story I am hearing from just about every woman I have spoken to lately. If we had ED or something that insurance companies push to have tested this would not have been the case now. I have to decide what will work best for my body. I am VERY active and have excellent balance so I am counting on keeping that as a reason to make the choices I have made. I have never been on any medications in my entire adult life so the thoughts of 4-5 medications just doesn't add up for me.
