Adderall abuse. Advice?

I am not sure what to do in this situation since it so immediate.

Have you discussed the issue with your loved one?

I was on Adderall for a bit of time and often did not take it as prescribed. I switched to a non-stimulant called Strattera, which did not do shit for me.

Then I transitioned to Vyvanse. The potential for abuse of Vyvanse is less than Adderall, as it is only activated by oral ingestion. Many people that abuse Adderall crush it up and snort it. With Vyvanse, that would not work.

However, with Vyvanse, it would still be possible to abuse it by taking more capsules than prescribed.

I am guessing you live with your loved one. What is he or she like when the pills run out? Do you fear that your loved one will not be safe if you are away? I mean he or she may go on an Adderall binge while you are gone, but you have your own life and cannot always be there. Are there other mental health issues like depression? Or anything that makes you think your loved one may harm themselves or someone else?

@mglayton72 Thank you so much for your answer. Thanks to you (and a book: Codependent No More) I went away and came back and it was all fine. I was so
anxious the whole time, but I did it and it was a good step.
