@maureercria

I am on Medicare and the first Vesicare cost me $252 because of my deductible needing to be met. My next bottle was going to cost about $118 and I thought that was still too much.

@maureercria that what I thought when I prescribed myrbetriq. At that point I just figured I would live with frequent bathroom trips but it has gotten worse. As I said in the prior post, I do not recall the vesicare costing anything that seemed that unreasonable.

My urologist said these medicines "are NOT supposed to make it so you won't have to get up and go to the bathroom". They are to stop you from premature release of the urine before you get to the bathroom. I was surprised at this because the numerous times of getting up during the night are my biggest problem with it. He told me that the urge to urinate is supposed to be when you are awake and is supposed to be shut off when we're asleep. If we believe this, it would mean that other things wake me up, and then I have to go to the bathroom because I am awake. This is really disappointing.

@maureercria thanks, good to know. I also have night sweats from my immunosuppressants. It seems that they come on when I get up for a bathroom call. If I had fewer bathroom calls I sure would get better sleep. I think if I go to bed totally exhausted I do wake up fewer times but it’s a catch-22. I try to get to bed early enough to make up for my constantly interrupted sleep.

Have you been tested for magnesium, Vitamin D, zinc, and Vitamin B12 deficiencies? The red blood cell magnesium test detects magnesium in muscle and bones, which is where 99% of your magnesium is. Magnesium is what keeps calcium in your muscles and bones and is involved in 700 to 800 processes in your body. Dr. Carolyn Dean's book, "The Miracle of Magnesium" is available on her website and has recently been updated. I found when I'm magnesium is deficient, I'm incontinent.

I receive the. Worst Pills, Best Pills Healthletter. A while ago they had an article that said that ALL medicines meant to treat all types of leakages only make the problems worse. The article also went on to list foods that cause the leakages. You might want to research for that article.

I totally agree with you. I have to go to bed early just to try to get 6 hours of sleep in by 8 AM or so. I hate going to bed because I know what will happen.

I started using Depends at night, because I was afraid of missing the signal to get up and go or that I would have an accident on the way to the bathroom. It's given me confidence to fall asleep and stay asleep longer. I really like the new underware Depends. I even use these if I'm going out of the house. They're not noticeable under regular street clothes.

@marthalewfinn918 This info about magnesium is very interesting. I take magnesium and my magnesium is within range of where it should be so I guess it should not be causing me any problems. It could be higher though. I was actually prescribed two magnesium pills a day but was running out so I was only taking one per day and my numbers were in the OK range so I stayed with one.
