@danafitz I agree that 5 months is probably enough time to adjust to Metoprolol. On a different post, @bbisno asked about the side effects and I posted this article in the reply. I did not have dizziness from the Metoprolol, 50 mg each morning ever since a septal myectomy 4 years ago. I did develop an electrical problem causing arrythmia after the surgery, I experienced dizziness and giddiness and 2 syncope. I acquired Buddy, my ICD, to pace my heart. Worked wonderfully.

Yes - obstructive hcm, diagnosed in March 2026. I had a little dizziness when I first went on 25 mg of Metoprolol, then it subsided after a few days. Dizziness again when the dose was increased to 50 mg, and then it subsided. But it seems to me now that the dizziness is increasing and is much worse than before. Especially during and after exercise, to the point where I feel unable to function, sometimes with visual disturbances. Is it from the hocm? Metoprolol? Who knows?
