How is it determined if the ovarian cancer actually started in the tubes as opposed to starting in the ovaries ?

@bettydee Excellent question. I do not know the answer for sure, but I just did a little research. It seems the question/theory came up around 2017, and scientists decided to study cases of ovarian cancer. The NIH, a reputable organization, publicized this study which may answer your question. https://www.cancer.gov/news-events/cancer-currents-blog/2017/ovarian-cancer-fallopian-tube-origins.

In an article published more recently, at John Hopkins, we can read about how scientists are using that finding to come up with ways to detect ovarian cancer long before the first physical signs of that awful disease are noted. https://inbt.jhu.edu/working-to-detect-ovarian-cancer-earlier/ I hope this helps to answer your question at least in part.
