@bjk3 Cats'll do it. They're great lesson-givers. I have a cat here. His name is Poe. For Edgar Allan. He was my partner's cat. Now he's mine. For a guy with wobbly balance, Poe is a great lesson-giver. I watch Poe as he goes about his day, doing everything the way I need to. On standing: Stand. Pause. Check: Have I got my balance? If I do: Decide where I'm going. Look in the direction. Turn slowly in that direction. Check again: Do I have my balance? If I do, step off (lift my feet! Don't shuffle) … on and on. That's how the day goes: A running conversation with self, all to keep the internal gyroscope in balance.

You warn: "This is no time for theatrics … " Don't worry. I've already told Cirque du Soleil I'm going to skip next month's open auditions.
