Thanks @johnbishop for your comments, it makes the mental process of using help forums consoling. I realize being a newbie takes time to navigate so thank you for sharing the helpful links to get me started.

Probably try it both ways and see which gives you best results. I have both CVI Chronic Venous Insufficiency in both lower legs and some sort of neuropathy as well. The CVI has been treated via Chemical Venous Ablation, but the discoloration remains. I wear the socks to cover up the discoloration. I often feel bouts of numbess, skin surface pain and other unexplainable discomfort. Seems like it doesn't matter if I wear them or not, but over time some swelling returns, esp. to my lower left leg. I do know that I can't wait to take them off by bedtime.
@johnbishop I am sure you know that neuropathy is demyelination of nerves. That protective myelin coating is made by cobalamin in our diet. That's vitamin B12. Sadly many seniors have little if any b 12 because they eat rubbish. e.g. pizzas. Alcohol stops absorbtion.Try eating lambs fry often. Thats B12. Go for it.
