From what I have read on afibbers.org forums, most EPs keep their patients on a DOAC for at least six full months, which is when the first confirmatory TEE is usually done. If minor leakage, another TEE at one year, but stay on the DOAC.

This article, dated 2021, says 45 days on a DOAC: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8784674/

A more recent article, probably using the first's recommendations: https://www.droracle.ai/articles/10920/how-long-should-a-patient-stay-on-oral-anticoagulant

@gloaming I have been on Plavix, since I had ‘The Watchman’ implant! My Electrophysiologist said it was a perfect fit! I’ve had the first transesophageal check, which was excellent! I got a 90 day supply of Plavix, with no refill. I’m supposed to have only baby aspirin, after Plavix, and the next transesophageal check is supposed to be scheduled exactly one year from when ‘The Watchman’ implant, which is in March, 2027. So, I’m halfway done with the bottle of Plavix. I guess I’ll call the Doctor, about when to go off Plavix, for sure!
