I have a prostate cancer (gleason score 6).
I am diagnosed with prostate cancer (Gleason score 3+3). I have completed both biopsy and repeat biopsy. Still under active surveillance. My PSA went from 10.42 to 11.68 in six months. I am worried about possible progression.

I had my first PSA check at age 64. Frickin doctors before never even mentioned it and I had no idea what it was. PSA came back at 13.7. By the time I had the MRI...the Biopsy...The PET Scan...the CT scan - 6 months time span - it jumped to 16.1 when I started treatment (18 months ADT and 28 radiation treatments).
I always try to focus on the "good things" about this journey. Prostate Cancer is extremely treatable and moves extremely slowly. New treatments are being discovered all the time. You have lots of time left in your life to go out and live it - and odds are something else is going to get me before Prostate Cancer. I have times when I feel down - for sure - but staying active helps that; and honestly if I didn't tell people no one would know. It's a hell of a lot better condition to get than other types of cancer - so in some weird, strange way I feel lucky.

@jc76 I am at the second opinion phase but having trouble locating where I can send the results etc for this if you have any advice

1 ReactionNccn.org is an organization whose guidelines are followed by doctors. Here is a link to patient guidelines. Page 57 talks about any PSA 10 or more puts you in the Intermediate risk category, which is what I was in and was treated by an MRI guided radiation machine in 2023. I had a Decipher test, which doctors do use to evaluate treatment. I had no ADT. A telehealth second opinion also helps.

What I did is I had my testing done at Mayo. Per my PCP he suggested second opinion and I contacted UFHPTI. The had me sign some forms and they had my medical records sent to them from Mayo.
They did add a Pet Scan test the wanted before diagnosis and their opinion.
Try contacting major medical institutions like Mayo, Cleveland Clinic, John Hopkins, etc. as asked about second opinions procedures. Most of the time you don't have to go there they just request your medical records and review all your testing.
The MCC mentor had a link at couple of major institutions but don't remember which mentor and don't recall the links. You can always call directly and they can guide you.
