Has anyone done this? How effective was/is it? Many thanks!

I am having the same issue and now am 13 months out. My doctor is very nice but this did it work. Can you please explain why “if every thing checked out” that they did a new tkr? What were they trying to correct?

I think I am going to need it too but what did they do differently the 2nd time?

Thank you, I hate to think of living in this pain forever. I know the Dr I would trust to do the revision But he is a long way from me. And no one to take me. My husband can no longer drive. I see pain mgt. Jan. 17th everyone says he is a great Dr and does not throw pills at you. That is not my solution. I do all the driving. I don't want that life anyway. I will see what he says and at least maybe after a year he will do a CT of my knee. I will be thinking and praying on this as I have been. Thank you again lawman.

@babette, I see that you have participated in many of the knee replacement discussions. Thank you for starting one that is centered around a specific type of treatment, laser therapy. I would like to invite @kneeproblem to share their experiences with laser therapy in this new discussion. I would also like to invite @flfirechief who has discussed having cold laser therapy treatments for a different arthritic joint.

@babette, is this treatment something you have you discussed with your provider, or are you trying to get some experiences from others before you ask?

2022 Full knee replacement
120 degrees Range of motion at first
Used CPM machine and did excercises but as scar tissue kept increasing, ROM decreased to 60.
2024 Dr. removed scar tissue (successfully it out and forced knee manipulation to 130 degrees to ensure that the replacement equipment worked. There was ALOT of scar tissue (Dr Said he was surprised at how much). I bought the CPM machine and was on it constantly (while watching TV, in the morning etc and did my excercises and PT but again the scar tissue would just grow back. My range of motion is back to 60 or even less.
I don't want to do the scar tissue removal surgery and manipulation again without guarantee that the scar tissue won't grow back again.
Can lasers work to break up scar tissue at this point? If I have the surgery again, can they shoot a steroid or something in my knee to prevent it from growing back? My current Orthopedic surgeon says no because they are afraid of infection.

@golfshrink I haven't tried any of your treatments. I saw a big-deal doc in Boston who Rxs a home exercise program for me and that's what I've been doing. It consists of riding my stationary bike for 30 minutes per day and PT-type exercises. Each morning I get an e-mail instructing me what the day's activity needs to be so as to avoid boredom and too much repetition. I don't know if I will have him do my other knee, but my takeaway from my consult with him was *gentle* PT, if it hurts, don't do it. Quite refreshing given the persistent "no pain, no gain" approach of most PTs and surgeons. I wish you luck if you decide to do the Lazar/laser treatments. Post again once you've done it!

@babette I just came across your post and realize it has been years since your surgery but am wondering if there is a website to access the at home therapy your doctor gave you. I am 3 months out and flailing around with effective, not horribly painful exercises to do at home. I love that he gave you different exercises every day, that seems so much better than feeling stuck in the same ol’ same ol’! Thank you!!
