What does Mixed urogenital flora mean?

When you see this statement from a urine culture, it usually indicates that there are multiple types of bacteria present, with no one of those being "more present" than another. Did you recently see this reporting for a culture done on your urine? What was the reason your doctors did the culture in the first place?

@gingerw I was told this today. I’ve been dealing with uti a lot lately. This last one I didn’t have any symptoms until I had to go get a kidney/bladder ultrasound done. I’ve been having pain on my left side where my kidney/spleen is located and it feels like a knot there. But results for that came back normal. But now I need to have a ultrasound on my left lymph node

@snuggs Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! Unfortunately, many of us find our discomfort/pain concern doesn't seem to be of much importance to our providers, until they have something concrete. I know for me, a UTI can rapidly progress from a mild discomfort to nasty debilitating pain in just a couple of hours! One time a fill-in doctor told me it was "all in my head". No way!

It sounds like you had a urine culture, then? Did anything indicate a problem?

@gingerw So I went back to be retested cause the doctor that I had seen (urgent care) said my results showed 2 bacterial infections one uti but can’t pinpoint what the other is. So she told me take the antibiotics and come back in if I’m still having the symptoms. Well I was, urine test was clear. Turns out it’s severe acid reflux. Since the pain worsens when I eat or drink. So he doubled my meds. I just feel deep down it’s something else. I will take my medicine for a while and if it doesn’t get better I’ll go see someone else.
