Reclast prep questions

My endocrinologist has just given me orders for my first infusion. Hydrate the day before, 64 oz if possible and take an additional over the counter vitamin D. The day of infusion, if infusion is in the afternoon, continue hydration and start taking Tylenol every 6 hours that entire day.

Sorry for the short answer. I was 77 when I had the reclast infusion on September 12, 2025. I had had reclast infusions before with no reaction. But this time, I had severe pain in my hip and my thigh, very severe pain, to the point where I could not walk. I went to the hospital, had every test known to man, and they could not find any reason for my pain. Severe pain in the hip and thigh is one of reclast’s possible negative reactions. Well, I had it and I still do. Many people on this website have complained of horrible side effects. It is not worth the chance that you might have one of these many side effects. I would warn you against it. It can literally ruin your life.

@margaret3363 I guess it is an individual response as I have 2 friends that have been getting the infusions for 2 and 3 years with only the initial aches for the first week.

@mspass I think you’re right that it is an individual response but what if you are that individual who has life changing side effects? I can tell you that it’s not worth the risk. As I mentioned, I had Reclast infusions several times before with no side effects. Maybe it’s age related? I don’t know but I would caution against it.
