Actually i found it very very inexpensive in Denmark. Last year I had a cardiac ablation and. 3 weeks later was in Copenhagan and had an afib episode. I went to a local er and they did the normal triage and I saw a nurse. I ended up leaving before seeing a dr because afib self limited. In the US that would have cost over $1000. The bill, sent when I returned home, was $51. Not even worth submitting to my travel insurance.

@ladylennie good to know! my mom had a similar positive experience in Spain with needing to get her port flushed while traveling. on the other hand, a family member had COVID in Dublin last year and without a resident ID number, we had to pay the manufacturer list price for Paxlovid, which was $1500. not covered by insurance or travel insurance.
