An incarcerated umbilical hernia happens when a portion of the intestine or abdominal fat pushes through the belly button opening and gets trapped by the muscle wall. It cannot push back inside. This traps tissue, blocks digestion, and can cut off blood flow, making it a medical emergency.

Does it cause digestion problems if only fat is incarcerated?
