Calcium timing

Posted by laurensb @laurensb, Aug 4 8:12am

My doctor has me taking citracal slow release calcium in the morning. I am having trouble with the timing. I have my coffee with breakfast at about 9 and steel cut oats at about 1:30. I have been taking it with a large glass of water and a hard boiled egg white first thing in the morning so to have something to eat with it.

Do you think this works? Hard to schedule it around caffeine and high phytate food.

Would have. I've been suspecting you of a little wry humor. Your post about possible satisfaction from hearing about titration from a doctor, or from not amgen, but radius tickled me.
I hope you don't need surgery on that toe. Lidocaine patches are really helpful for toe pain.
Being a doctor is tough work. Compensated but tough. I'd so hate if every mistake I make in a day could result in debilitation or death. I've never gotten close to a doctor who didn't harbor deep guilt about something that happened in their practice, usually early on.
They are so dependent upon results from tests that they don't run or oversee in any way.
Still, I'm curious about why your husband doesn't want to be a PA.

@here4health ocean organic usually I don’t buy off Amazon anymore. There are other brands too but I look for third-party tested lab tested. I look for purity. I’d have to do my research. I look for amounts too because a lot of high D threes are not that great either so I pull up my age and look what amount I need

@here4health I use Vital brand. It has 180 mcg. per tablet. It was the best when I compared prices.The lower priced ones had less potency.

@osteopatient2026 early on I was taking calcium a few hours before the injection, thinking the pth drug would then need to draw less from my bones. It never gave me nausea. But I never figured out if it kept any calcium in my bone. I haven't ferreted if a person can help determine whether the hormone pulls calcium from the kidneys, the bones or the intestine.
What makes sense to you? Do you suppose that no matter the amount of calcium in the bloodstream a certain amount of injected pth1-34 is going to draw the same amount of hormone, as your wise caution suggests.
I abandoned calcium two hours, and now take magnesium two hours before to help determine that drawn calcium goes back into my bones in measured amounts.

@gently
Your the best…
As a job …It’s still “on the table” but we spend all our time together and we like that. So don’t know. He does have years of medical background. We have been married 40 plus years.
He also has a neurological decline …that’s another story. Trying to deal with a lot at this point in life.
