Spine Stimulator with paddles: Placement of them? Where was your pain?

My paddles were placed at C4-C5, and my pain ran from C2-T/1 (up and down my neck). While the trial was successful, we didn’t have nearly the success after implant. As such, I had it removed about a 1 & 1/2 years later, when I was fully fused between C2-T/1 and had Harrington rods placed in the back of my neck for stability. Removing the device was difficult due to lots of scar tissue that had grown around the paddles.

@faithgirl30 sorry you went thru that my paddles were placed at T6/7 in hopes of getting relief for a failed fusion instead I had nothing good from it and the final straw was at 10 months the paddles moved to T7/8 after a start to a fall that when I felt the dull ache I lowered my self to the steps in a pool using the handrails therefore raising my shoulders and moving the leads It also now causes Testicle, Tip of Penis, Inner thighs, Temple pain depending which side of spine is touched as to which side of those hurt, it’s also causing loss of Bladder sensation, My Right big toe moves on its own, I suffer from stroke symptoms depending which side of spine is touched! I also noticed headaches getting worse when leaning forward and also start getting sleepy to the point I would like blackout and drop my phone ! It’s the list that seems to never end

@faithgirl30 I hear you! I had a similar problem with my Medtronic SCS. Mine was implanted around T6-T7 for lower back pain. After it stopped working and I had it removed. I tried having another unit implanted. The problem was that they could not get the leads in the "sweet spot' due to scar tissue.

How is your pain? I have pain in dame area plus, saddle region/ buttocks and proximal hamstrings.

@sherij You can do the trial to see if you are a candidate for the permanent implant. The difficult part is choosing which one to try... there are so many to choose from. Good luck.

I got an update from Cleveland Clinic! I have Central Sensitivity and now Neurogenic Bladder compliments of Boston Scientific’s junk I mean Spine Stimulator
