remicade for IBD suggested - any alternatives?
I was told by the doctor I have chrones colitis after a blood test. He suggested remicade. He said it would take care of it. It is caused hereditary and food doesn't really affect it. has anyone tried other things. I take probiotics tumeric ginger. I quit drinking coffee and changed my diet a lot. It has helped but still have flare-ups that last a couple weeks. Does anyone have suggestions that can help?

@cows1806 Have you had other testing done in addition to a blood test? Crohn's disease is usually diagnosed using a combination of tests, often including imaging and/or colonoscopy and biopsy.
Here is a good overview of Crohn's disease:

Crohn's disease can be very serious, and biologics, like Remicade, are an effective treatment option. While diet and lifestyle are important, they are usually used in conjunction with medication. The low FODMAP elimination diet can help find triggers, but it's not a good diet for the long term, as it is so restrictive.
What other testing have you had?
