@ipg I am 70 too. I was rejected by an endocrinologist and gynicologist for HRT as well. I searched for a private practice gynecologist who, in tandem with my cardiologist, after careful evaluation, cleared me for HRT. I had a total hysterectomy at age 34, and I was on Premarin until age 50 when WHI came up with a warning about stroke. Transdermal estradiol works differently from oral once and has few to no side effects. I cannot take bisphosphonates due to my dental implants issue, so HRT is one to back up gains from Forteo for me.

Perhaps your doctor is not up to date with the newest information about bhrt/hrt. Another issue that is informing his stance could be something in your medical history. Have you asked her what she is basing her refusal on?
